2008

The RTEF funded one set of playaways, birdjam/ipod bundle, document camera, projector, Ipod learning lab, music lab software and computer, flip video camcorder, digital camera kits for teachers at Coolidge, Killam, Parker and RMHS.

2007

The RTEF funded 2 computer library editing software, Neo Mobile Lab for 20 students, document cameras, Quia, projectors, smartboards and projectors and mobile digital camera lab for teachers at Coolidge, Parker, Killam and Wood End.

2006

The RTEF funded Smart Boards, Document Cameras, Projector, Cart of Neos, Classroom Performance System, 30 Writers, 6 IR receivers and cart, 8 Window XP upgrades, 8 Office with Publisher upgrades and digital camera for teachers at Parker, Killam, Joshua Eaton, Birch Meadow and Wood End.

 

Spring 2005

RTEF awarded $16,500 in grant funds. Parker Middle School received funds to purchase digital imaging equipment and software which will allow eighty 8th grade students in the Web Page Elective classes to create digital images for their web pages. Parker was also awarded funds to purchase a Smartboard system, including Smartboard, computer, and TI-Smartview Emulator to be used by math students at the middle school. Coolidge Middle School was awarded funds to run an onsite Train-the-Trainer session on the use of SmartBoards and other Smart Technologies, Inc. products for its faculty. RMHS, which has teamed with RCTV to teach the RMHS Television Production class, was awarded funds to purchase three Mac Mini stations and three digital cameras for students’ use in editing video projects and community television programs. Viewers of RCTV will see the results of this grant in a more consistent flow of shows produced by students.

Fall 2004

For Fall 2004, the RTEF funded $14,000 in grant requests, including:

A digital microscope, computer and software for the RMHS Biology Department, two computer projection systems at Birch Meadow Elementary School, website production and maintenance software for the RMHS media center and its student web page team, an LCD data projector and scanner for the RMHS business department, and one computer for the RMHS Art Department to store visual collections used in teaching visual arts.

 

June, 2004
Technology & Learning Conference
In cooperation with the Reading School Department, the RTEF is providing transportation and lodging for four high school teachers to attend the Tech Conference in June 2004.

April 2004
RMHS Math Department Pilot Project
Smart Board, Document Camera, and PC with a cart and printer plus a  TV/VCR and  calculators.  This configuration in Mr. Mooney's classroom is a pilot of the technology that will be available in the new high school. Math teachers are using it to gain familiarity with SmartBoards and document cameras so they are ready to go in the new high school.

From designing logos to preparing posters for the Vernal Pool Association, students are finding many uses for these PCs.
